Expression of Oneself

Covid took a lot from many people, however as I reflect over the past year and a half it has also brought so many blessings. Look around just for a moment, you'll realize how much you have to appreciate. I believe in not focusing on what was lost but rather what was gained. Before covid how often did you simply sit outside and admire the trees or the sky? Well after a year inside I bet those moments have increased. Before covid did you ever slow down and enjoy moments with your family? Did you simply stop to enjoy the blessings God has placed in your life? This

last year has given many of us the opportunity to do just that. As humans we grow and adapt to our changing times and environments but throughout this last year, it's trials and turmoil, God has stayed constant as we've had to adapt to our new world he has stayed the same. God has remained a constant stability in our lives and carried us through. Blessing upon blessing has been apparent over this last year if you simply take a moment to look.

Self expression is unique to each person, as you can likely tell for me it's mg writing yet for some it's music or dance etc. However you express yourself it is a gift from God, a gift unique to you that he chose so intricately that it would fit your life and personality perfectly. Expressing your thoughts, feelings, and personality is a blessing in life; today, this week, this month snd this next year pay attention to the gifts God has given you in which you express yourself and share those gifts with others. Our gifts aren't meant to be held inside but rather given freely and trust me when you are willing God will reach the people who need you the most all you have to do is be you and let your light snd gifts shine to those around you.

Love Yo Selfie

Often times when you think about "love", where does your mind go? For some of us it might be the love shared between a couple or a family, friends etc. Rarely however do we think about ourselves. The world can feel like its spinning a million miles an hour, I know mine is. We spend so much time making sure everyone else is okay that we often times neglect ourselves. We love everyone and try to make sure they know that, but what about making sure we know we love ourselves? That were happy with who we are? You may be thinking I've gone crazy right now trying to tell you to love yourself lol. I'm serious though, we are our biggest critics and I feel like we spend so much time critiquing ourselves that we forget to be happy with who we are. We tend to excuse mistakes of ones we care  about, as we should but then we dwell on our own mistakes and let them tear us apart. We need to show ourselves the compassion we show others and we need to be comfortable with who we are as ...

Stillness

As someone accustomed to being constantly on the go and busy, I've always found the concept of stillness almost nerving.  When someone tells you to spend time being still in God's presence, I don't know about you but I always pictured literally sitting still with nothing to occupy myself. To say the least due to this perception stillness is something I'd avoid. As I've began seeking God as a new mother, he's hit me with a new perspective that I'd like to share in the hopes it can aid and encourage others to embrace being still.  Stillness is different for everyone, perhaps for some it is sitting and doing absolutely nothing, meditating on God's word, for others maybe it's prayer or being alone and singing worship music. Being still with God is eliminating distractions of this world and focusing fully on him. What helps your mind go quiet? What helps you tune into God's voice and block out the world? Personally I've found its worship music and...

Defining Life Through Choices

Life is a crazy thing, what's crazier is how we each define the course we take through it. Often times we categorize our lives by the bigger more obvious choices, for instance taking a job, going back to school, getting married, having children etc. If we created a road map of our lives on paper it would likely consist of big landmark choices. Is it truly those big choices however that sum up our lives? Is it really those land mark sized choices that got us where we are today and propel us further into the future? I'd like to argue that they are not. Every day, every moment we are faced with choices, big and small choices. Perhaps the most seemingly miniscule choices are in fact the most monumental. When you start your day, what thoughts do you allow into your head? How do you nurture your mind, body and soul when you rise and when you begin to settle down for the day? How do you choose to interact with those around you, how do you speak to them? How do you speak to yourself, ...
