Directions

Do you ever wonder where you belong in the world? Whats your purpose or God's ultimate plan for your life? This is something that I consider a lot. We're all born with gifts in which God gives us to use to glorify him and to help bring others to come to know Jesus. I think that during our teen years however, trying to figure out where we belong, what school to go to, what to major in, how its all going to work out etc, well it can be quite overwhelming. We're being pulled so many different directions by so many different people and things that some days its like we don't even know which was is up anymore. If your like me then you probably pray a lot asking God to lead you in your life and as I like to put it, "take the reins." This is something we should all do regularly, by praying for God to be in control of our lives, it gives a sense of peace, reassurance. Not reassurance that life will be easy, but that we will end up where we're supposed to be and th

Testimony of a True Role Model

Today I had the privilege of meeting the sweetest couple, for the sake of privacy I won't say names but I really want to recognize them. My family and I talked to them for a good half hour or so seeing as my dad has been friends with them for quite some time. Since I had never met them, I got to hear a little bit of this amazing woman's story and testimony. 13 years ago she was diagnosed with cancer, and 13 years ago she was given only two weeks to live, 13 years later she is still here and yes she has been through a lot but she is a living testimony of how God works miracles and saves us from man kinds worst trials. She is a strong Christian and knows its because of God she pulled through, the way she really gave praise back to God is something I truly admire. Another testimony that I saw in the couple as a unit is the definition of commitment and love. Her husband has been by her side through all of it, through times when she could barely walk and times of her being healed. H

Follow Your Heart

I'm sure you've all heard the saying ,"follow your heart" from time to time again. Its one that I have recently taken to heart myself. Being the strictly realistic person I am, I used to change it around and say to follow your heart but listen to your mind. Basically if what my heart wanted wasn't realistic then I'd shut it down. Recently I've learned a very important lesson, which is to fully follow your heart. Your mind will change and it will grow with your life, but your heart, that stays constant. No matter how complicated or unrealistic it might be, follow the path of your heart. I know I learned the hard way on that. You see when you neglect your heart, then its like theirs this hole that nothing seems to fill, nothing except what your heart want in the first place. The versatility of this lesson honestly amazes me, it could be a relationship, a job, or any goal you have. Follow your heart and trust yourself, push and work hard towards whatever it m

Being Well Known

Hello my amazing readers, Something that has been on my mind lately is wanting to be known. I think we all want or dream to be well known for something in our lives, and I think we all truly are. The question is, what do you want to be known for? What do you want people to see in you and remember? You can be known for things that are good, morally correct, inspiring. Or  you can be known for things that are more undesirable. We all have that choice and its determined by how we choose to live our lives. Most of us aspire for things bigger then ourselves, I would like to encourage you to run with that, reach for the stars. Let the world hear your voice, and if you live a life morally correct and for the Lord then not only will you benefit, but those around you will benefit from you. Stand out, become well known. But do so in a manner that you give God back the glory and you stay humble. Do so in a way that people are inspired by you. And do so in a way that will shine a little light in

Love Yo Selfie

Often times when you think about "love", where does your mind go? For some of us it might be the love shared between a couple or a family, friends etc. Rarely however do we think about ourselves. The world can feel like its spinning a million miles an hour, I know mine is. We spend so much time making sure everyone else is okay that we often times neglect ourselves. We love everyone and try to make sure they know that, but what about making sure we know we love ourselves? That were happy with who we are? You may be thinking I've gone crazy right now trying to tell you to love yourself lol. I'm serious though, we are our biggest critics and I feel like we spend so much time critiquing ourselves that we forget to be happy with who we are. We tend to excuse mistakes of ones we care  about, as we should but then we dwell on our own mistakes and let them tear us apart. We need to show ourselves the compassion we show others and we need to be comfortable with who we are as

Feeling Poetic

Hey everyone, So today I'm taking a bit of a different angle then usual, I wrote a poem yesterday which I'm actually going to use for my final draft portfolio in school. It wasn't meant for that but it fit the criteria pretty perfectly, anyways I wanted to share this with you. Enjoy  :) Title- "A Longing Love" Like an eagle, I soar amongst the memories blooming in my mind. I remember the safe feeling I only felt with him. The comfort that he gave me. The sound of his voice as we talked for hours on end. The feeling of his arms around me like a barricade silently protecting me from the evil of the world. His smile, oh how he could instantly turn even the darkest night into day. His knowledge, not just of the world but of me, he knew me almost better then I new myself. The feeling, the longing, if only I could go back to what once was. This is my wish.
