CYBERBULLYING - Action is Needed!

I put out a request a while back asking for bullying testimonials, anyone who wanted their stories shared anonymously. I received one today and this is honestly heartbreaking... A girl was cyber-bullied, and without names or age, or any personal details being used as promised here is her story. A girl liked a guy and he liked her, well his ex girlfriend wanted him back and she found out about the feelings between the two of them. She had his old log in information to a social media account and decided to go on and text the girl he liked. So this girl thinking she got a text from the guy she liked opened up to some really mean comments which she tried to reply to with the nicest, most upstanding nature, but this..well this tore her apart. Cyber-bullying is very real and this is a real example.. People don't realize the impact what they say can have one someone, this is the kind of message that drives a person to kill themselves, and its sent all for what? Jealousy that the guy

Learning to Praise in the Midst of Pain

Many of you have probably heard the saying "Learn to dance in the rain". Personally that quote is one of my favorites because of its versatility, it can apply to anything from the smallest complication to the biggest catastrophe. On thing that we don't usually remember though, is to praise God when things go wrong. We always thank him and praise him when he blesses our lives and lets things go right in our eyes., but how about when things go wrong? I think often times when things go wrong we draw away from the Lord when really he's asking us to draw more near. God has a reason for everything and his perfect plan for our lives will prevail with our cooperation. So that being said, things may be going "bad" in our minds but if that a part of God's plan for us then things really can't be that bad.  When we learn to praise God even in the times we want to crumble, it shows our devotion and it causes us to lean more prominently on the Lord and less on wor

Open Mic

Today I really want to bring the focus back to what I truly believe is worth fighting against. Bullying is becoming more prominent all across our state and country. All we hear about however is the same speech of how bullying is bad and hardly any solutions to stop it. Today I'd like to take a different approach.. Do you have a success story of bullying? Have you been bullied? Or do you know someone who's been bullied and wants to share the story of how they rose above and overcame it? The biggest satisfaction is given to a bully when they see that they have inflicted pain or hardship.. lets work together and show bullies, show the world that we have come out strong. Lets take away the satisfaction given to bullies.    If you or someone you know has a story that you would like featured on this blog as well as "My Journey to Miss Teen International" blog, simply email me @kaylagirl0501@gmail.com All stories will be posted anonymously for the sake of privacy.

Patience

Patience is a gift known by many and yet only blessed to few. We've all been told to have patience, sometimes in round-about ways such as "only time will tell", or "wait it out" etc. Patience comes in many forms and is needed in almost every situation whether your waiting for food in a restaurant or stuck in traffic in the city. Or maybe your simply waiting on the right opportunity or relationship to come a long. How many times do we really listen when someone tells us to have patience? If I'm being honest then I know for myself the answer is well quite rarely.      Patience isn't something we automatically receive the moment we leave the womb, its a trait in which is squired over time and through consistent practice. As hard as it may be, this quality is one that we should all enrich ourselves in. No matter where you are in the process, remember we are all human which means we all have aspects of ourselves that need improvement. Don't let the areas

Loneliness

I asked my friend for a topic idea tonight seeing as I haven't written in a while and he suggested I do something about feeling alone. God works in mysterious ways, I have a devotional I look through for topic starters sometimes to see what I feel God wants me to discuss. I flipped to a random page and opened up to one called " I am Lonely". Tonight I want to touch on this topic and hopefully help instill in you that, for one your not alone, and two how to handle the feeling we all get now and again.     If your like me then sometimes you might ask yourself, how you can feel alone when your in this world seemingly always surrounded by people...? Well truth be known, loneliness actually has nothing to do with the fact of being "alone". Its more of a state of mind and how to fix it may be easier than you may think.     When we feel lonely our human instinct is to immediately look for another relationship, we look high and low for this ideal relationship that wil
