Self Preservation VS. Preservation of Others...

Self preservation is the preservation or protection of ones self. For humans this is often a trait which we have received as instinct, however if not guarded can develop into not only protecting yourself but doing so at the cost of others happiness, health, or overall well being. In order to protect ourselves we will sometimes go to any length. Some of these lengths include throwing someone else under the bus per say or getting them in trouble instead of us. Another is hurting someone's social image to build our own etc. Acts of self preservation if not used carefully can often harm those around us in a large variety of ways. Tonight though, I'd like to take a different look at this idea of self preservation. As humans, we thrive in a pack, with other people and by being social, we can't do life alone. So with that said and our large aspect of social need in our character... Self preservation should actually be the preservation of others and those around us. Think about it,

Inconvenience or Adventure?

In todays world we have made some pretty amazing accomplishments that have increased something we all desire, convenience. We can cook frozen food in minutes with the touch of a button. We can easily decide what to wear based on the weather, all we have to do is ask Siri or google. We can get across the country in a matter of hours via plane flight and text/call internationally within seconds. These are just a few ways our society has enhanced the art of convenience. Were so used to this idea we can have anything with a  touch of a button, that we shouldn't have to wait for anything. Were so used to everything being set in a planned format, expecting it to go perfectly. So what happens when life isn't orderly, when we can't predict something? We panic, its our instinct thanks to our new age.

Seeing Past The Haze

We all get into rough patches of life, sometimes to the extreme that we see no way out. Today I want to remind you to see past the haze that these life situations often create. When we see no escape from a situation then we lose joy, we lose motivation, and we lose positivity. This is exactly what the devil wants, these types of things can be viewed as an invasion to the mind, things aren't really that bad and yet we see it as the end of the world. The devil likes to attack our minds, our thoughts are his playing field and taking our joy, our motivation and our positivity, our gifts from God, that is his prize. When we let our thoughts take over our mind we let the devil win. Instead during these foggy, hazy times in life we need to lift our eyes to the one that matters. Remember that he has a plan, a plan not to harm us but to help us prosper. Sometimes we need a little haze in order to truly see and appreciate the light for all that it is in our lives. So during the haze, don'
