Fam Bam

I think way to much but on occasion this comes in handy. Christmas season makes me think about so much, not about gift shopping or any of the festivities themselves honestly, it makes me think about life in general. Aspects of life that we often take for granted, don't appreciate enough or maybe don't even realize. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus, this being said its also about family and not just those blood related to us but our family through Christ, the friends he's blessed us with that become family. If your a teenager like me then lets face it, about 80% of the time , your family annoys you completely out of your mind. But then there's moments like this that I realize that despite all the annoyance , I'm so lucky to have them. Families and especially parents have an odd way of showing they care... typically through teasing. We tease each other though because we love each other. My parents get on my nerves occasionally being that they are "strict

Giving Up Control

I usually don't post twice in a one day time period, however I've had a lot on my mind in which I didn't think would go well with my previous post. Something that I have struggled with a lot lately and I feel like we all struggle with from time to time is this feeling of loss of control. We all want to be in control of our lives and often we want to be in control of the lives of those we care about as well. If your like me then you hate not being in control in your own life and in those around you especially when they are experiencing a rough time and you feel as if you can do absolutely nothing to help them or change the circumstances. Our bible study last night hit me pretty hard. I've been slacking on my devotions lately not wanting to be confronted by God about areas in my life that I know need change. I've been tying to handle everything on my own lately and I'm a testimony that this does not work. This past month I've had two people whom I really care

Keeping the Christ in Christmas..

Hey Everyone, I hope your all having an amazing Christmas season and that you and your families are taking this time to come together and remember the real meaning of Christmas, that its not about the gifts or the cookies. Its about the true miracle that saved us all, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Its easy to get distracted this time of year with all the festivities and lights etc but its important that we don't get to distracted. The world has turned Christmas into another Hallmark holiday and the ultimate goal being to eliminate Jesus from it completely. Take charge of your own household and your own heart and keep that from happening because Christmas truly is about the start of a miracle that none of us deserve yet we were all given so graciously by our heavenly father.

"Wonder"

Tonight I went and saw the movie Wonder, if  you haven't seen this movie then it is a must see! Its all about a child born with face deformations so he looks different then others. Its about his journey to accepting and embracing these differences. As I watched this, I  got to thinking about how were all  different, we all have aspects of ourselves that set us apart from other people and aspects that make us who we are. I think that often times however we have a hard time embracing some of these differences, not only of ourselves but also of others. We see physical differences as ugly and we see mental differences as "ill' or 'slow" etc. Instead of embracing all these differences ,we tear people down and make them feel worthless, ashamed etc. We don't choose our differences, our creator does that and he created each and every one of us for a specific purpose. Instead of hiding from these differences we should embrace them and love one another. We should see ph

Lifes a Track Course...Run It

Hey y'all! I apologize for how long it been since I've posted, I'm sure you can understand how life has a way of getting busy, hectic and in the way of things. In my absence from all of you, I've done a lot of thinking, about things that have happened in my life, the lives of those I care about, and just life in general. When you think about life, how do you classify it? There's many ways and I even use a few of them depending on the time in my life. Some think of life as a story books, or as I like to think of it, as a text book because you only know what you have read and you will learn what you have yet to read. Lately another way I think about life, is like a track course. For those of you that have never experienced track, its a sport in which athletes do a variety of activities. They run races, throw javelin or shot -put, and even jump hurdles. Life in a way is a lot like track, every day we are given lessons ,trials, moments that what we choose to do will af
