Self Worth

Self worth and the value of ones self are some often discussed topics. I feel like as teenagers we all will come to a time when we struggle with understanding or even acknowledging our own value and worth. This stage in life makes things quite complicated, you see when we ourselves don't know our worth, then we begin to question things. We question why God sees potential in us if we don't even see it. We question if were worthy of the things we want or if we have the strength to get their. We question why were even here in the first place. As you can see our outlook on our entire life starts with the outlook we have on ourselves. It can be hard to remember, but it is oh so necessary that even in the tough times we remember we are worth it and we aren't just valuable, were priceless creations of the one true king. No matter how many mistakes you make or how many times you mess up, you are loved and that will never change, so if the king of the universe can love all of us no matter the circumstances, we need to remember to do so as well. Times get rough, they can get really rough, and sometimes whats needed is to take a step back out of the situation and think about it in a new perspective. God has a plan, even when we can't see it, God is in control even when it feels like he's gone and God never leaves us, even when we feel completely alone. Know your value, your a creation of the king of kings, so hold your head high and find your strength not in yourself, but in him. On the days you question things, take a step back, remember who you are and count not the negatives in your life, but rather the blessings in which God has given you, I promise those out weigh the bad every time! To whomever is reading this, you are loved, you are perfect and there is nothing you can ever do to make God love you any less, so be grateful and remember not your value to this world but your value to your father in heaven and the wonderful plan he has for your life.

Love Yo Selfie

Often times when you think about "love", where does your mind go? For some of us it might be the love shared between a couple or a family, friends etc. Rarely however do we think about ourselves. The world can feel like its spinning a million miles an hour, I know mine is. We spend so much time making sure everyone else is okay that we often times neglect ourselves. We love everyone and try to make sure they know that, but what about making sure we know we love ourselves? That were happy with who we are? You may be thinking I've gone crazy right now trying to tell you to love yourself lol. I'm serious though, we are our biggest critics and I feel like we spend so much time critiquing ourselves that we forget to be happy with who we are. We tend to excuse mistakes of ones we care  about, as we should but then we dwell on our own mistakes and let them tear us apart. We need to show ourselves the compassion we show others and we need to be comfortable with who we are as ...

Stillness

As someone accustomed to being constantly on the go and busy, I've always found the concept of stillness almost nerving.  When someone tells you to spend time being still in God's presence, I don't know about you but I always pictured literally sitting still with nothing to occupy myself. To say the least due to this perception stillness is something I'd avoid. As I've began seeking God as a new mother, he's hit me with a new perspective that I'd like to share in the hopes it can aid and encourage others to embrace being still.  Stillness is different for everyone, perhaps for some it is sitting and doing absolutely nothing, meditating on God's word, for others maybe it's prayer or being alone and singing worship music. Being still with God is eliminating distractions of this world and focusing fully on him. What helps your mind go quiet? What helps you tune into God's voice and block out the world? Personally I've found its worship music and...

Defining Life Through Choices

Life is a crazy thing, what's crazier is how we each define the course we take through it. Often times we categorize our lives by the bigger more obvious choices, for instance taking a job, going back to school, getting married, having children etc. If we created a road map of our lives on paper it would likely consist of big landmark choices. Is it truly those big choices however that sum up our lives? Is it really those land mark sized choices that got us where we are today and propel us further into the future? I'd like to argue that they are not. Every day, every moment we are faced with choices, big and small choices. Perhaps the most seemingly miniscule choices are in fact the most monumental. When you start your day, what thoughts do you allow into your head? How do you nurture your mind, body and soul when you rise and when you begin to settle down for the day? How do you choose to interact with those around you, how do you speak to them? How do you speak to yourself, ...
