Thank You Veterans!

Today I realized something that I often remember but than again forget. Today on Americas birthday I would like us all to take a moment and remember how blessed we truly are. No matter our struggles we are so much better off than millions of other people across the world ,simply because we live in America. We have so many freedoms that we take for granted every day and we forget that we have veterans constantly fighting in order for us to keep these freedoms. Our freedom comes at a price ,we just live our lives and its normal for us ,these freedoms but its a constant war to keep them. There is always other countries who want to take our freedoms and take control. Our nation is so blessed that we have our veterans who have the courage and the strength that they feel the need and the want to stand up for what they believe in and to stand up for our Country, to stand up for what makes America the beauty and everything she is today. If it were not for our heroes we would not have the freedoms that we take so often for granted today. Our veterans leave their families and their homes,  the risk never coming back. Why do they do this? They do this because they believe in our nation and they are not scared to stand up and fight for what they believe is right. So many have died for this country, so many have DIED so that we may LIVE. But not just live ,anyone can live. They put their lives on the line and some loose them so that we may live in freedom, without fear of borders or dangers of other countries invading, They feel such a calling to defend us and they never get the appreciation that they deserve. So today lets take a moment and honor those who have given their lives up for us and for those that are currently putting their lives on the line. It may be Americas birthday but we wouldn't have a birthday to celebrate if it weren't for our veterans! I speak on behalf of myself, my family, my friends and our nation when I say THANK YOU VETERANS!

Love Yo Selfie

Often times when you think about "love", where does your mind go? For some of us it might be the love shared between a couple or a family, friends etc. Rarely however do we think about ourselves. The world can feel like its spinning a million miles an hour, I know mine is. We spend so much time making sure everyone else is okay that we often times neglect ourselves. We love everyone and try to make sure they know that, but what about making sure we know we love ourselves? That were happy with who we are? You may be thinking I've gone crazy right now trying to tell you to love yourself lol. I'm serious though, we are our biggest critics and I feel like we spend so much time critiquing ourselves that we forget to be happy with who we are. We tend to excuse mistakes of ones we care  about, as we should but then we dwell on our own mistakes and let them tear us apart. We need to show ourselves the compassion we show others and we need to be comfortable with who we are as ...

Stillness

As someone accustomed to being constantly on the go and busy, I've always found the concept of stillness almost nerving.  When someone tells you to spend time being still in God's presence, I don't know about you but I always pictured literally sitting still with nothing to occupy myself. To say the least due to this perception stillness is something I'd avoid. As I've began seeking God as a new mother, he's hit me with a new perspective that I'd like to share in the hopes it can aid and encourage others to embrace being still.  Stillness is different for everyone, perhaps for some it is sitting and doing absolutely nothing, meditating on God's word, for others maybe it's prayer or being alone and singing worship music. Being still with God is eliminating distractions of this world and focusing fully on him. What helps your mind go quiet? What helps you tune into God's voice and block out the world? Personally I've found its worship music and...

Defining Life Through Choices

Life is a crazy thing, what's crazier is how we each define the course we take through it. Often times we categorize our lives by the bigger more obvious choices, for instance taking a job, going back to school, getting married, having children etc. If we created a road map of our lives on paper it would likely consist of big landmark choices. Is it truly those big choices however that sum up our lives? Is it really those land mark sized choices that got us where we are today and propel us further into the future? I'd like to argue that they are not. Every day, every moment we are faced with choices, big and small choices. Perhaps the most seemingly miniscule choices are in fact the most monumental. When you start your day, what thoughts do you allow into your head? How do you nurture your mind, body and soul when you rise and when you begin to settle down for the day? How do you choose to interact with those around you, how do you speak to them? How do you speak to yourself, ...
