Needing Strength?

Lets be honest , we all get a little drained from time to time. This thing we call life tends to do that. We can only take so much before our strength dwindles away like sand going through a glass. Whether we like to admit it or not as our pride can get in the way, we all need a hand or push now and then, a strength refill. We look everywhere to be rejuvenated and yet nothing works, theirs still this "hole" or empty feeling that we cant quite get passed. Why is this? Its because we always look in the wrong places. I'm sure we all remember playing the game hide and seek as kids right? I mean who didn't? Well this is the same kinda game, we look high and low to be inaugurated and refreshed and we think were getting close than we just find and empty spot again. We think that earthly things can satisfy us but we constantly forget that only one thing can truly satisfy us. We were made in the image of God, not in the image of the world. So when were feeling down and we try to use earthly things to lift us up of course it fails. God never needed earthly things to keep going through hard times. He kept his focus on the Father and he kept his eyes on the word and the promises, the same promises we all have to this day. You see when we go after Godly things instead of earthly things than we give God the chance to truly refresh us. Hes always reaching out , its just that sometimes we get so blindsided by the world that we forget to take his hand, we forget what he is offering which is true peace. He gives us peace of mind, peace of soul and gives our bodies rest when were in need, the bible is food for our soul. When we slack on our time with God our soul gets hungry its like depriving your body of food and theirs this constant empty feeling, than when we read the word and go after what God wants for our lives we get a sense of security and fullness. Earthly things only last a lifetime but godly things last an eternity. So i ask today will you go after the short joys of this life or the lasting eternity of joy after this life?  We all need an extra push now and again and we all get hungry just make sure your not only feeding your body but also your soul :)

Love Yo Selfie

Often times when you think about "love", where does your mind go? For some of us it might be the love shared between a couple or a family, friends etc. Rarely however do we think about ourselves. The world can feel like its spinning a million miles an hour, I know mine is. We spend so much time making sure everyone else is okay that we often times neglect ourselves. We love everyone and try to make sure they know that, but what about making sure we know we love ourselves? That were happy with who we are? You may be thinking I've gone crazy right now trying to tell you to love yourself lol. I'm serious though, we are our biggest critics and I feel like we spend so much time critiquing ourselves that we forget to be happy with who we are. We tend to excuse mistakes of ones we care  about, as we should but then we dwell on our own mistakes and let them tear us apart. We need to show ourselves the compassion we show others and we need to be comfortable with who we are as ...

Stillness

As someone accustomed to being constantly on the go and busy, I've always found the concept of stillness almost nerving.  When someone tells you to spend time being still in God's presence, I don't know about you but I always pictured literally sitting still with nothing to occupy myself. To say the least due to this perception stillness is something I'd avoid. As I've began seeking God as a new mother, he's hit me with a new perspective that I'd like to share in the hopes it can aid and encourage others to embrace being still.  Stillness is different for everyone, perhaps for some it is sitting and doing absolutely nothing, meditating on God's word, for others maybe it's prayer or being alone and singing worship music. Being still with God is eliminating distractions of this world and focusing fully on him. What helps your mind go quiet? What helps you tune into God's voice and block out the world? Personally I've found its worship music and...

Defining Life Through Choices

Life is a crazy thing, what's crazier is how we each define the course we take through it. Often times we categorize our lives by the bigger more obvious choices, for instance taking a job, going back to school, getting married, having children etc. If we created a road map of our lives on paper it would likely consist of big landmark choices. Is it truly those big choices however that sum up our lives? Is it really those land mark sized choices that got us where we are today and propel us further into the future? I'd like to argue that they are not. Every day, every moment we are faced with choices, big and small choices. Perhaps the most seemingly miniscule choices are in fact the most monumental. When you start your day, what thoughts do you allow into your head? How do you nurture your mind, body and soul when you rise and when you begin to settle down for the day? How do you choose to interact with those around you, how do you speak to them? How do you speak to yourself, ...
