Self worth and the value of ones self are some often discussed topics. I feel like as teenagers we all will come to a time when we struggle with understanding or even acknowledging our own value and worth. This stage in life makes things quite complicated, you see when we ourselves don't know our worth, then we begin to question things. We question why God sees potential in us if we don't even see it. We question if were worthy of the things we want or if we have the strength to get their. We question why were even here in the first place. As you can see our outlook on our entire life starts with the outlook we have on ourselves. It can be hard to remember, but it is oh so necessary that even in the tough times we remember we are worth it and we aren't just valuable, were priceless creations of the one true king. No matter how many mistakes you make or how many times you mess up, you are loved and that will never change, so if the king of the universe can love all of us no matter the circumstances, we need to remember to do so as well. Times get rough, they can get really rough, and sometimes whats needed is to take a step back out of the situation and think about it in a new perspective. God has a plan, even when we can't see it, God is in control even when it feels like he's gone and God never leaves us, even when we feel completely alone. Know your value, your a creation of the king of kings, so hold your head high and find your strength not in yourself, but in him. On the days you question things, take a step back, remember who you are and count not the negatives in your life, but rather the blessings in which God has given you, I promise those out weigh the bad every time! To whomever is reading this, you are loved, you are perfect and there is nothing you can ever do to make God love you any less, so be grateful and remember not your value to this world but your value to your father in heaven and the wonderful plan he has for your life.
A thought came to me today as I stumbled upon some inspirational posts. Why are we often so eager to escape our troubling circumstances. We get trapped in the fire and get so focused on getting out that perhaps we miss the most important question of all, what refining needs to be completed in the fire? Just as a welder uses the fire to shape and refine metal, so God uses our circumstances, "fires" to shape and refine us. If he simply swooped in and saved the day, we would lack the knowledge he hopes us to gain, we wouldn't grow in character or wisdom. In the fire we think he abandom us, left us to our own devices, but in reality he is more present in the fire even then in the calm. It's when we feel abandoned that he's calling to us the loudest, beckoning us to just open our ears to listen to his voice. Take the fires in stride, don't immediately reach for the extinguisher. Allow the flames to surround you with the confident knowledge that the one whom the...
