Today I was searching for inspiration, I like to write my blogs on topics that are important to me and that I feel need to be heard or I have struggles with myself. I like to write posts that just might make a difference for my readers in some shape or form. Tonight as I began my devotions , I ran across a verse that touched me and also reminded me of something that I need to work on in my life. Luke 6:26-27 says that " But to you who are willing to listen, I say love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you." We all have people in our lives whom have hurt us, maybe some of us more than others but we all have them. When we get hurt by a person, our human instinct is to push them away and shut them out, either for a time or completely. What if instead of shutting these people out, we drew them closer? I'm not saying put yourself back in a position to get hurt but instead of pushing them away draw them closer, not into your arms but into Gods arms. Maybe instead of leaving them, we should be leading them. Leading them to the open arms of our one true king. We cant change people ,a s much as we think we can, we cant. God can however and if we are blessed enough to be given the opportunity to help with his plan for someone else's life or help him show someone else the light shouldn't we take it?? What if we listened to Luke 6 and we loved our enemies, how many hearts could we change for Gods greater good? What if we tried blessing those who have cursed us instead of wishing bad things upon them or getting angry like our human nature tells us to, how many people could we reach that way? And what if we prayed for those who have hurt us? What if instead of trying to forget about them, we put them at the center of our conversations with God and gave our pain and our hurt and our scars to him? What if we let him heal us and in the process maybe let a new Christian life be born as he uses us to reach them? God wants to reach out and share his love with everyone and he wants us, he needs us to help him do it. We just have to be willing to give up our pride and our pain and lay it down at his feet. We need to be willing to give God our lives and in return he will make our lives whole and also fill in the holes of the lives around us as he uses us to reach out to them.So today I ask you, will you love your enemies? Will you bless those who curse you? Will you pray for those who hurt you? And will you give it all to Jesus, your entire life and all the scars that come with it so that he may begin to heal you and the people you come in contact with along the way? We could start a revolution so who's with me? Who is ready to join Gods army?
There have been several topics on my mind and heart the last week. So I pray right now that God present them here the way he wants them written and understood. One topic I'm sure I've touched on before is uncertainty, however I feel it is more relevant now than possibly ever. In this world the only certainty we havw perhaps is uncertainty, key words here; this world. As I've mulled this topic over in my mind a couple things have become clear: -uncertainty forces growth of faith. -community and relationships are of utmost importance. -In an uncertain world and constantly uncertain times, we as humans need Jesus, our rock and savior more then ever before. -Lastly (for now) we need to be building our boats to withstand rough waters every day even as the water is still so that when the inevitable tsunami hits, the storm of life won't wash us away. This analogy sums up most of the main points, together with those whom we are building relationships, we should be building...
