Thank You Veterans!

Today I realized something that I often remember but than again forget. Today on Americas birthday I would like us all to take a moment and remember how blessed we truly are. No matter our struggles we are so much better off than millions of other people across the world ,simply because we live in America. We have so many freedoms that we take for granted every day and we forget that we have veterans constantly fighting in order for us to keep these freedoms. Our freedom comes at a price ,we just live our lives and its normal for us ,these freedoms but its a constant war to keep them. There is always other countries who want to take our freedoms and take control. Our nation is so blessed that we have our veterans who have the courage and the strength that they feel the need and the want to stand up for what they believe in and to stand up for our Country, to stand up for what makes America the beauty and everything she is today. If it were not for our heroes we would not have the freedoms that we take so often for granted today. Our veterans leave their families and their homes,  the risk never coming back. Why do they do this? They do this because they believe in our nation and they are not scared to stand up and fight for what they believe is right. So many have died for this country, so many have DIED so that we may LIVE. But not just live ,anyone can live. They put their lives on the line and some loose them so that we may live in freedom, without fear of borders or dangers of other countries invading, They feel such a calling to defend us and they never get the appreciation that they deserve. So today lets take a moment and honor those who have given their lives up for us and for those that are currently putting their lives on the line. It may be Americas birthday but we wouldn't have a birthday to celebrate if it weren't for our veterans! I speak on behalf of myself, my family, my friends and our nation when I say THANK YOU VETERANS!

Life Boat

There have been several topics on my mind and heart the last week. So I pray right now that God present them here the way he wants them written and understood. One topic I'm sure I've touched on before is uncertainty, however I feel it is more relevant now than possibly ever. In this world the only certainty we havw perhaps is uncertainty, key words here; this world. As I've mulled this topic over in my mind a couple things have become clear: -uncertainty forces growth of faith. -community and relationships are of utmost importance.  -In an uncertain world and constantly uncertain times, we as humans need Jesus, our rock and savior more then ever before.  -Lastly (for now) we need to be building our boats to withstand rough waters every day even as the water is still so that when the inevitable tsunami hits, the storm of life won't wash us away. This analogy sums up most of the main points, together with those whom we are building relationships, we should be building...

Open Mic

Today I really want to bring the focus back to what I truly believe is worth fighting against. Bullying is becoming more prominent all across our state and country. All we hear about however is the same speech of how bullying is bad and hardly any solutions to stop it. Today I'd like to take a different approach.. Do you have a success story of bullying? Have you been bullied? Or do you know someone who's been bullied and wants to share the story of how they rose above and overcame it? The biggest satisfaction is given to a bully when they see that they have inflicted pain or hardship.. lets work together and show bullies, show the world that we have come out strong. Lets take away the satisfaction given to bullies.    If you or someone you know has a story that you would like featured on this blog as well as "My Journey to Miss Teen International" blog, simply email me @kaylagirl0501@gmail.com All stories will be posted anonymously for the sake of privacy.

Special Trip

Hey guys/ and gals!  I hope you have all had a great start of fall, I just got back from Hawaii last night and let me just say I'm feeling truly blessed! We go to Hawaii a lot since we have a timeshare and as I've mentioned in the past, we attend church on the island. This trip however was unlike any other. I feel like God gave me so many opportunities and opened my mind to a lot of new things, there's so much I want to share with you right now that I hardly know where to start.  When your in the moment , you tend to brush off the little things. Then as you look back you realize those little things were what  mattered the most. I learned so much on this trip and especially about relationships. Both relationships with the people around me at the time and the relationships that were waiting for me to come home. Lets start with what I learned about the people around me on the trip why don't we :).  The day we flew in ,I got to go to my best friends 21st birthday! I fee...
